Talking about how the farmers are suffering because of Cyclone Maha that damaged their crops, Pawar said, "Centre should help farmers whose crops have been damaged due to rains. I have visited the affected areas and feel that farmers must be provided relief." Highlighting another major issue faced by the farmers spoke about insurance companies not paying for crop damage and that the Finance Ministry should intervene in the matter.
Earlier in the day, Shiv Sena remained adamant on its demand for the chief ministerial post for 2.5 years and equal share in the distribution of portfolios. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that his party will only discuss what was finalised before the assembly polls and no new proposal will be sent to BJP now.
