Sharad Pawar Hands Over Letter to PM Narendra Modi, Seeks Financial Relief For Maharashtra's Distress Farmers

The two leaders meet at a time when the NCP and the Congress are in talks with the Shiv Sena to form government in Maharashtra. There is currently a stalemate regarding government formation in the state, however, Sanjay Raut has mentioned that the process to form the government will take place in the next 5 to 6 days and it will happen before December.

Mumbai, November 20:  Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi today to discuss on issues related to farmers in Maharashtra. NCP supremo handed over a letter to PM which said, "I've collected data on crop damage from two districts, but damage because of excessive rains extends to rest of Maharashtra, including Marathwada and Vidarbha. I'm collecting details and information regarding the same, which should be sent to you at the earliest."

He further requested PM to intervene in the matter and help the farmers who are in distress. According to an ANI update, in the letter, he mentioned, "Due to the prevalence of Presidential Rule in the state, your urgent intervention is highly necessitated. I shall be grateful if you take immediate steps to initiate massive relief measures and ameliorate the miseries of the distressed farmers."
