Satara, May 9: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar was "locked up" inside an auditorium today, after a door lock suddenly got jammed, giving anxious moments to his party workers. According to reports, the incident took place after Pawar addressed a media conference and was getting ready to leave the venue.

According to an IANS report, several NCP legislators, activists, journalists and auditorium staffers attempted to open the door but without much success. They finally had to break the lock. He was able to step out of the room after almost 10 minutes eventually.

The handle apparently got jammed, and it prevented the door from opening either inside or outside. Reportedly, the 77-year-old politician looked amused, post he came out of the auditorium.
