New Delhi, April 2: Ex-Indian Army officer and former Mrs India winner Shalini Singh joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. The induction of Captain Shalini Singh comes nearly two weeks before the notification for the sixth phase of polls - featuring the electoral battle in all 7 constituencies of Delhi - will be issued. Captain Shalini Singh tweeted about her entry in the Aam Aadmi Party and wrote, "As an Army personnel, have served the country with full dedication. Today I joined @AamAadmiParty as I want to continue serving my nation and want to bring the much needed change. For me its always nation before self."

As of now, the party has not indicated whether the ex-Army officer will be their candidate from West Delhi -- the parliamentary from where the AAP is yet to announce their official nominee. From the other six seats of the national capital, the party had named its candidates on March 2.
