Lucknow, May 23: The results of the Shahjahanpur Lok Sabha Constituency will be declared today. The counting of votes began on the Shahjahanpur Parliamentary seat in Uttar Pradesh at 8 AM on Thursday, May 23. Voting took place for the Shahjahanpur seat in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 29. Shahjahanpur constituency is one of the eighty Lok Sabha constituencies in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Shahjahanpur is situated at the junction of two rivers, namely Khannaut and Garra. In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Krishna Raj of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the seat and is the sitting MP from this Lok Sabha Constituency. Umed Singh Kashyap of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was at the second spot. However this time, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has denied ticket to the sitting MP Krishna Raj. The BJP has instead given Arun Sagar a chance from the seat this time. Congress has fielded Brahma Swaroop Sagar and the Mahagathbandhan candidate is BSP's Amar Chandra Jauhar.
