Mumbai, December 15: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Chhagan Bhujbul on Sunday took jibe on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Bhujbul said that the big personalities have differences in their views and Rahul Gandhi has its own thoughts about Vinayak Savarkar. “When it comes to big personalities, not everyone agrees on everything. Rahul ji has his own thoughts about Savarkar. Savarkar had said the cow is not our mother but BJP says it is. Savarkar's thought was also 'gyanvadi' but can BJP accept it? They can't,” he said.
Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that he won't apologise for his "rape in India" remark and said that he is not "Rahul Savarkar". “I was told in Parliament by BJP yesterday 'Rahul Ji, you gave a speech. Apologise for that.' I was told to apologise for something right. My name is not Rahul Savarkar. My name is Rahul Gandhi. I will never apologise for truth,” Rahul had said. Gandhi's remark was criticised by Bharatiya Janata Party. Shiv Sena, who has formed an alliance government in Maharashtra with Congress and NCP, also criticised Gandhi scion's statement. “Veer Savarkar is a Godlike figure not just in Maharashtra but in the entire nation. Savarkar name resembles sacrifice and self-respect. Like Nehru and Gandhi, Savarkar also sacrificed his life for the freedom of the country,” said Sena leader Sanjay Raut.
Reacting to the development, Ajit Pawar said that Shiv Sena's stance won't affect the ‘Maha Vikas Aghadi’ alliance. “Uddhav ji, Sonia ji, and Pawar sahab are mature people, they will make the right call,” news agency ANI quoted Pawar as saying.
