Mumbai, March 24: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Shiv Sena are in a direct electoral contest in Satar Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra. Polling for Lok Sabha election in Satara parliamentary constituency was held on April 23 in the third phase of general elections. The result of Satara Lok Sabha election is getting declared on May 23. Udayanraje Bhosale of the NCP is the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) from Satara. As per early trends, Shiv Sena's Narendra Annasaheb Patil is currently leading.

While the NCP has renominated Bhosale, the Shiv Sena fielded Narendra Annasaheb Patil. For Satara Lok Sabha election, the process of filing nomination began from March 28. In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-Shiv Sena -Swabhiman Paksha alliance bagged 42 out of the 48 seats in Maharashtra. The Congress was left with only two seats and NCP just four.
