Chandigarh, July 7: Months after denying the reports to join any political party, famous Haryana-based singer and dancer Sapna Chaudhary on Sunday joined Bharatiya Janata Party. She took the membership of the saffron party in the presence of senior BJP leaders.

With the joining of Sapna in the party fold, it is speculated that a large number of her followers will also join the ruling party in state during the membership drive. She is also expected to campaign for the membership drive of the party, which was relaunched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi on Saturday. Though in March this year, Sapna had quashed the reports of joining Congress and mentioned that she has no intention of joining any party, she was seen campaigning for Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari during the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 in May, days before the polls.
