Nagada Khachrod: Dilip Gurjar of Congress is leading

Ghatiya: Ramlal Malviya of Congress is leading

Counting underway in Sanwer, Nagada Khachrod, Mahidpur, Tarana, Ghatiya, Ujjain Uttar, Ujjain Dakshin in Madhya Pradesh.


Bhopal, December 11: The counting of votes has begun for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections 2018. The final results and winners lists are likely to be declared by early evening today. Voting for the 230-seat Madhya Pradesh Assembly was held on November 28. We are bringing you updates on the results of seven MP Vidhan Sabha seats -  Sanwer, Nagada Khachrod, Mahidpur, Tarana, Ghatiya, Ujjain Uttar, Ujjain Dakshin. The exit polls for Madhya Pradesh have been a mixed bag. While some exit polls predicted a victory for the BJP, others have predicted at the Congress winning the MP Assembly polls. Sanwer (SC) Assembly Seat

The Sanwer (SC) seat was won by Dr.Rajesh Sonkar of the BJP in 2013. The party has fielded him this election too, against Tulsiram Silawat of the Congress and Kamal Chouhan of the BJP. Silawat had won the 2008 election from this seat on Congress ticket.

Nagada Khachrod Assembly Seat

The Nagada Khachrod seat was won by Dilip Singh Shekhawat of the BJP in 2013. Shekhawat is placed in a tight battle against Dilip Gurjar of the Congress. Gurjar has been a three-time winner - 1993, 2003 and 2008.

Mahidpur Assembly Seat

The Mahidpur seat was won by Bahadur Singh Chouhan of the BJP. Chouhan had also won the seat in 2003.  He has been fielded this year too, against Sardarsingh Chouhan of the Congress and Rameshchandra Bamanawat of the BSP.

Tarana (SC) Assembly Seat

The Tarana (SC) seat has been a BJP stronghold since 2003. Anil Firojiya of the BJP had won this seat in 2013. He has been fielded by the party this election against Mahesh Parmar of the Congress among other candidates.

Ghatiya (SC) Assembly Seat

The Ghatiya (SC) seat was won by Satish Malviya of the BJP in 2013. This election, the party has fielded Ajit Bourasi against the Congress' two-time winner (1998 and 2008) Ramlal Malviya.

Ujjain Uttar Assembly Seat

The Ujjain North seat has been a stronghold of Paras Jain of the BJP since 1990. Jain has won the seat five times and is in the running against Rajendra Bharti of the Congress. Bharti had won this seat in 1998.

Ujjain Dakshin Assembly Seat

The Ujjain South seat has been with the BJP wince 2003. Dr. Mohan Yadav of the BJP won this seat in 2014 and has been fielded by the party this election as well, against Rajendra Vashishtha of the Congress.
