Mumbai, August 26: President of Mumbai Congress Committee, Sanjay Nirupam, has claimed that Rs 5,000 crore suit has been filed against him by businessman Anil Ambani in Ahmedabad Court. Nirupam also questioned Anil Ambani's decision to take the defamation suit case to Ahmedabad despite living in Mumbai.
Nirupam, in his tweet, called Anil Ambani filing a suit of Rs 5000 crore against him in Ahmedabad strange. He also claimed that he received the summon on Saturday. Check his tweet below:

Earlier, Reliance Group said on August 20 that its Chairman Anil Ambani had written to Congress president Rahul Gandhi on the Rafale fighter jet deal saying that Congress party has been "misinformed, misdirected and misled" by "malicious vested interests and corporate rivals" on the issue.
Ambani, who had reportedly first written to Gandhi on the issue in December, wrote to him again saying that not a single component worth a single rupee is to be manufactured by his group for the 36 Rafale jets India is buying from France, said Reliance Group today said its Chairman Anil Ambani has written to Congress president Rahul Gandhi on the Rafale fighter jet deal saying his party has been "misinformed, misdirected and misled" by "malicious vested interests and corporate rivals" on the issue.

Rahul Gandhi has been attacking the Narendra Modi led government in the Centre for inking the deal at a much higher price compared to what the previous UPA regime had negotiated. Congress party has also demanded a JPC probe into the deal.
