Accusing the Shiv-Sena BJP alliance in Maharashtra of playing out the mutually agreed melodrama, Sanjay Nirupam said, “Amit Shah's visit to Matoshree is being hyped just to divert attention of people from basic issues. Mumbai has been let down by Shiv Sena-BJP. They have failed Mumbaikars on every front. Infra, cleanliness, healthcare and water supply. Their mutual fight is mutually agreed melodrama.”

Lambasting Amit Shah on his brief visit to the city, Sanjay Nirupam said that the police was deployed outside their homes. A rough translation of his tweet reads, “Amit Shah is in our city today and the police has been deployed outside our homes. Why? Why are they fearing our questions so much? Or maybe all of the lies have been unmasked, and hence the worry? Or this is a new way of ‘sampark for samarthan’ programme?”

Nirupam also said that the police was following him, without any reason. He tweeted, “Police following me in my car. Don’t know why?”

The BJP supremo is on a short visit to the Mumbai city where he is scheduled to meet Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray – BJP’s coalition partner in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in both Centre and Maharashtra state. The Shiv Sena-BJP coalition has been on a threshold for a long time now. Amit Shah, in his mega public drive ‘sampark for samarthan’ will, hence, be meeting Sena chief in order to set things in order. Also, Shah will be meeting Ratan Tata, Madhuri Dixit, and Lata Mangeshkar later in the day.
