Puri, April 20:  With the third phase of Lok Sabha elections just days away, candidates are trying their best to woo the voters and are adopting innovative ways of campaigning. On Friday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for Puri constituency, Sambit Patra sang songs in Telugu to reach out to 'the sizeable Telugu population' in the constituency. Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Those Who Refer ‘Hindutva’ As ‘Terrorism’ Are Anti-Nationals, Says Sadhvi Pragya Thakur.

The BJP national spokesperson sang two popular songs to win the hearts of the crowd. Patra sang Telugu number Bangaru Kodipetta and a romantic number 'Telusa Manasa', Hindi version of which is 'Tum Mile Dil Khile' while campaigning in Penthakata area.

The BJP spokesperson also shared the video on his Twitter handle. He tweeted, “Puri has a sizeable Telugu Population as well. While Campaigning amidst them sang a famous Telugu number on demand. The frenzy in the crowd was palpable, don’t believe? A must watch! Lots of love to my adorable Telugu friends.”

Puri is going for polls in the third phase on April 23. The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has fielded Pinaki Misra, while the Congress has given a ticket to Satya Prakash Nayak from Puri. Meanwhile, Lok Sabha elections in Odisha is taking place in four phases on April 11, 18, 23 and 29. The results will be declared on May 23.
