New Delhi, May 25: Fifteen days after the US-based Time Magazine featured Narendra Modi on its cover calling him “divider in chief", BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra took a jibe at the international magazine by referring Modi as “Unifier-In-Chief”. The comment comes two days after BJP secured a thumping victory in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

Mocking the TIME magazine cover and praising Modi, Patra wrote on Twitter, "The greatest achievement of #LokSabhaEelctions2019 is that India United to vote against politics of Caste, Creed & Religion & to vote for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Agenda of Development ...”TIME” indeed has proved that Modi is the “Unifier-In-Chief” of India!" Here's the tweet:

Earlier on May 10, the US-based magazine featured Narendra Modi and called him 'divider in chief'. The article “Can the World's Largest Democracy Endure Another Five Years of a Modi Government?” was written by Aatish Taseer. In the opening lines she had written, 'Of the great democracies to fall to populism, India was the first.' The write-up also compares former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's idea of secularism with the prevailing social "stress" under PM Modi.

Meanwhile, BJP-led NDA won 352 seats in Lok Sabha Elections 2019, while Congress-led UPA managed to win only 91 seats. Narendra Modi is all set to take oath as the Prime Minister of India for the second time on May 30.
