In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Satyapal Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won this Lok Sabha seat. Shafiq- Ur Rahman Barq of the Samajwadi Party was at the second spot and Aqeel-Ur -Rehman Khan of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ended up at the third place from the seat. However, the BJP had denied ticket to Satyapal Singh, who was the sitting Member of Parliament from the seat. Instead, Parmeshwar Lal Saini was the BJP candidate from the seat this time. The Samajwadi Party has fielded Shafiqur Rahman Barq and the Congress party had nominated JP Singh to fight from this Lok Sabha Constituency for the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.
