Samastipur Lok Sabha Constituency Election Results 2019 in Bihar: Ramchandra Paswan of LJP Wins This Seat

Samastipur is one of the key Lok Sabha constituencies of Rajasthan. The voting for the parliamentary polls 2019 on this seat will take place in the fourth phase on April 29.

The Election Commission has declared the Lok Sabha elections 2019 results of Samastipur, along with other parliamentary constituencies across the nation. Samastipur was among the five seats which went to polls on April 29, when the fourth of general elections was held. The constituency recorded a total voter turnout of 59 per cent.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partner Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) has fielded Ram Chandra Paswan from Samastipur Lok Sabha constituency. In 2014 elections also, LJP candidate Paswan had won from Samastipur Lok Sabha Constituency defeating Congress candidate Ashok Kumar with a margin of over 10,000 votes. In 2009, Maheshwar Hazari had won the seat on the Janata Dal-United ticket.

On March 10, the Election Commission of India announced dates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The elections will take place in seven phases, and the results will be declared on May 23. The polls will be held in 1,035,918 polling stations across the country compared to 928,000 set up during the last Lok Sabha election in 2014.
