Thiruvananthapuram, November 15: Pandalam erstwhile royal Shashi Verma, after meeting Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, said that "we must ensure women during periods don't come to Sabarimala Temple." Shashi Verma also said that since the Supreme Court has reserved the hearing on the review petitions on the issue of allowing women of all ages in the sanctum sanctorum of the Sabarimala temple, the government can't do anything "directly legally." Sabarimala Women's Entry Verdict: Supreme Court Agrees to Hear Review Pleas on January 22.

Shashi Verma added that Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan told him that he "can take action not to allow women and advise them not to come." Check his comment in the tweet below:

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday, talking to the media after the meeting, said that the state government told all the parties that it will have to obey the Supreme Court's order on the issue. CM Vijayan said that "we do respect the sentiments of the devotees but the law of the land is supreme." The Kerala Congress had walked out of the all party meeting held on the issue of entry of women of all ages in the Sabarimala Temple and said that the Kerala state government is not really interested in resolving the issue.
