New Delhi, August 27: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is likely to invite Congress President Rahul Gandhi for an event. According to reports, the RSS may invite Gandhi for its event 'Future of Bharat' in Delhi between September 17 and 19. All eyes are now on when the invite would be sent and whether Gandhi would accept it. Reports say Sitaram Yechury of CPM has also been invited for the event. The RSS has said that they will invite all party leaders to the conclave.

These reports come days after Gandhi compared the RSS with Muslim Brotherhood. Addressing an event in London last week, Gandhi had said that the RSS is trying to "change" the nature of India and "capture" its institutions.

Gandhi had said that RSS’s ideology was similar to that of Islamist group Muslim Brotherhood and due to this India’s institutions were torn down one by one. There is no other organisation in India which wants to capture India's institutions, had he said.

"What we are dealing with is a completely new idea. It is an old idea being reborn and it is similar to the idea that exists in the Arab World with the Muslim Brotherhood - that one ideology should run through every single institution - one idea should crush all other ideas," Gandhi had said.

"That is why you see the response - four Supreme Court judges come out saying we are not allowed to do our work. You see Mr Raghuram Rajan (former RBI governor) expressing his shock at demonetisation," the Congress chief had stated.

Gandhi has been critical of the RSS and has been attacking the group in all his speeches and tweets.
