Rs 3-Lakh Crore Refinery Project Proposed in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri Will be Later Shifted to Gujarat: Congress

Both alliance party BJP- Sena have done match fixing. BJP is keen to shift the project in Gujarat while Sena does not want this to happen in their regime.

Mumbai, April 17: The Maharashtra state Legislative Assembly Leader of opposition Party (LoP) Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil of Congress has raised doubt over Shiv Sena objection to the proposed oil refinery project in Rajapur city of Ratnagiri district, Konkan. Patil alleged its just a ploy of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and Sena to fool the people of Maharashtra.

"Both alliance party have done match fixing, as BJP is keen  to shift the project in Gujarat. While, Sena does not want this to happen in their regime, the project going to Gujarat won't be digestible to them. Hence, both are playing game so no one can raise finger upon them," Said Patil.

He further claimed meanwhile, BJP will showcase themselves that due to peoples opposition they have taken the decision and shifted the project to Gujarat. Ultimately this will help them to win hearts of people who are against the chemical oil refinery project in Ratnagiri, Konkan.

Rs 1.5 trillion ( Rs 3lakh crore) mega oil refinery and petrochemical proposed project by oil marketing companies the OMCs-  Indian Oil Corp. Ltd, Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd (HPCL) will come up in Rajapur city of Ratnagiri district in Maharashtra. Rajapur is a city in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, around 385km from Mumbai.

The OMCs plan to jointly build a 60 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) refinery at a cost of Rs 1.5 trillion in two phases of 40 and 20 MTPA. While recently  the Union Petroleum Minister also signed MoUs with Saudi state owned oil processing company Aramco for this project.
