New Delhi, November 30: Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel on Friday, speaking on the issue of Congress President Rahul Gandhi's brother-in-law and businessman Robert Vadra being summoned by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Bikaner land deal case said that the issue was highlighted currently in the parliament and media because of the upcoming elections. The case is related to a land in Kolayat area of Rajasthan's Bikaner meant for those displaced due to Army's field firing range.

On Friday, responding sharply to a media report about the company that gave loans to his firm got relief from tax panel, Robert Vadra took to Facebook and said that it is part of Bharatiya Janata Party’s Plan B to drag his name into controversies to distract public attention from its governance failures. Vadra, who is a Congress member and brother-in-law of party president Rahul Gandhi, underlined that it is part of BJP’s strategy to drag his name whenever they find themselves on the back foot “be it Rafale or the prospect of losing assembly elections.”
