With Goa CM Manohar Parrikar’s death, Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education had postponed Monday’s exam and informed that it would take place on March 29.
All official programmes of BJP including the CEC scheduled for tomorrow, have been cancelled, following the demise of Former Defence Minister and Goa CM Manohar Parrikar.
As a mark of respect for late Goa CM #ManoharParrikar, 7 days State Mourning will be observed throughout Goa from March 18-March 24, both days inclusive. During the period, National Flag will fly at Half Mast on all the buildings across Goa & there'll be no official entertainment.
Government of Goa also announced: As a mark of respect for departed soul of #ManoharParrikar, CM of Goa, all the state government offices, local-autonomous bodies, public sector undertakings, all educational institutions including aided institutions shall remain closed on March 18.
Union Minister Smriti Irani while expressing her condolences said, "A leader, a mentor, a friend- Parrikar Sir meant all that & more to my family. But then every Goan can say the same for that was the persona of Manohar Parrikar. He taught me dignity in the face of adversity, loyalty in tough times & perseverance so that determined goals are met."
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath while expressing his condolences said, "देश के एक कर्मठ कर्मयोगी के असमय जाने से मन व्यथित है । प्रशासनिक कार्यों में कड़क, व्यवहार में सौम्य और मृदुभाषी मनोहर पर्रिकर जी का निधन देश की अपूरणीय क्षति है।"

Centre has announced national mourning on March 18, following demise of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. State funeral will be accorded to him. National Flag will fly at half-mast in the National Capital & capitals of States & UTs.

Panaji, March 17: Former Union Defence Minister and sitting Chief Minister of Goa Manohar Parrikar breathed his last at 63 years on Sunday at his residence in Goa. He was suffering from pancreatic cancer for a long time and even went to the United States for the treatment in March to June in 2018. The confirmed news of his demise arrived after President Ram Nath Kovind announced it on Twitter and shared his condolences.
Earlier in the day, Goa Chief Minister’s Office informed that the health of Parrikar is extremely critical and doctors are trying their best for his recovery. Even senior Goa BJP leader Dayanand Mandrekar requested the BJP high command to decide on the next CM face for Goa, as the chances of returning back to normal for Parrikar is grim.
