New Delhi, May 12: News channel Republic TV, in coordination with research agency Jan Ki Baat, is expected to declare the results of their post-poll survey in Karnataka on Saturday. Earlier on Saturday, voting was conducted in 222 of the 224 constituencies in Karnataka. At 5 PM, 64 per cent voter turnout was recorded. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday cast his vote in Chamundeshwari. He is contesting from Chamundeshwari and Badami constituencies.
Taking a jibe at BJP President Amit Shah he said, "Amit Shah is like a comedy show and Narendra Modi's image has drastically declined, his speeches are completely hollow and have made no impact on the voters of Karnataka. Therefore we are not worried".
In Jayanagar, the incumbent MLA and BJP candidate BN Vijayakumar died on May 4, whereas, in RR Nagar, over 9,000 fake voter ID cards were seized by the Election Commission in a late night raid on Tuesday.According to pollsters, the exit polls, barring a few instances, has been proved to be an accurate academic exercise which ends up reflecting a near about accurate image of the official results.
