Mumbai, March 23: Raver Lok Sabha seat, one of the 48 parliamentary constituencies in Maharashtra, went to polls on April 23 in the third phase of general elections. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Eknath Khadse's daughter Raksha Nikhil Khadse was elected as Member of Parliament (MP) from Raver Lok Sabha seat on Thursday.
The BJP has renominated Raksha from Raver Lok Sabha seat. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, she defeated Manish Jain of Nationalist Congress Party by a margin of 318608 votes. Raksha will have the backing of the Shiv Sena. The Congress declared Dr.Ulhas Vasudeo Patil as its candidate. In raver, the process of filing nomination began from March 28.
