In Rampur Baghelan, the BJP fielded Vikram Singh against Congress's nominee Ramshankar Payashi. BJP's Harsh Singh is the incumbent MLA from the constituency. In Sirmour, the BJP pitted its sitting legislator Divyaraj Singh and Congress candidate Aruna Tiwari. The Semariya assembly seat witnessed an electoral fight between BJP's KP Tripathi and Congress candidate Triyugi Narayan Shukla.
BJP candidate Shyamlal Dwivedi and Congress's Rama Shankar Patel locked horns against each other on Teonthar assembly seat. In 2013, BJP's Pandit Ramakant Tiwari was elected from the constituency. In Mauganj, the electoral contest is between Congress's sitting MLA Sukhendra Singh Banna and BJP candidate Pradeep Patel. In Deotalab, BJP fielded its sitting legislator Girish Goutam and Congress nominee Vidyawati Patel.
In Madhya Pradesh, the BJP is seeking a fourth consecutive term, while the Congress invested all its might to wrest power from the saffron party. In the 2013 assembly elections, the BJP had won 166 seats, while the Congress and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) had bagged 58 and four seats respectively.
