New Delhi, January 4: Hours after the Supreme Court set the next hearing date for Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case to January 10, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday for first time commented that the matter is sub-judice, so it won’t be the narrative for Lok Sabha Elections, scheduled in next couple of months.
Addressing a press conference in the national capital, the Congress president for the first time stated that his party will not contest the Lok Sabha elections on the Ram Mandir issue as the matter is sub-judice. He said that Ram Mandir wouldn't be narrative for Lok Sabha Elections 2019. But clarified that “Unemployment and corruption should be the agenda for 2019.” Ayodhya Case Hearing Deferred, Supreme Court to Constitute Bench on January 10.
The Congress president was briefing the media on the Rafale fighter jets acquisition deal and alleged the Union government of corruption on it. He also took the name of Reliance Defence’s Anil Ambani in his briefing. Gandhi said, “Dassault company's internal emails have revealed that the Indian Government ordered them that offset contract should only be given to Anil Ambani. PM Modi gave Rs 30,000 Crore to Anil Ambani.”
Earlier on Thursday, he attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Union government in the Winter Session of the Parliament. He asked few questions on the Rafale deal issue, which the government failed to answer properly.
