Ayodhya, November 24: Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray will arrive in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya on Saturday afternoon for a two-day visit. It is expected that nearly 3,000 Shiv Sena supporters who left for Ayodhya in two special trains from Nashik and Thane on Thursday will be accompanying Thackeray. Following the leader's visit, several arrangements have been made to ensure law and order in the city.

It is expected that Thackeray will take part in rituals near the Sarayu river and will visit the site of Ram temple in Ayodhya on Sunday morning. The Sena's visit is expected to create pressure on Centre- led by Bharatiya Janata Party to pass an ordinance and declare the date for construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Ram Mandir Row: Ayodhya Tense as VHP, Shiv Sena Mobilise Cadre For Massive Show of Strength on Sunday.

On November 20, Uddhav Thackeray while speaking on the Ram Mandir issue said that "Just like Rs 15 lakh in everyone’s account, is Ram Mandir also a jumla? When we're taking up this issue, we aim to ensure that Ram Mandir is actually built. This issue comes up only during the elections and once elections are over it is forgotten." Ram Temple Row: Shiv Sena Leaders Board Train to Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh Beefs up Security.

Earlier on Friday, Senior Sena leader, Sanjay Raut, made a controversial remark and said that "We demolished the Babri Masjid in 17 minutes, so how much time does it take to make a law for the temple." Raut further said that "many MPs in the Rajya Sabha who will support the Ram temple and anybody who opposes it (Ram temple), will find it difficult to roam around the country."

Thackeray had planned to carry out a rally in Ayodhya, however, the Uttar Pradesh government had denied it on the grounds that the venue, the Ram Katha Park, where the event was scheduled to be held, is near the disputed site of Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi and any remark or provocation could create a tension in the area and boost conflicts.
