New Delhi, May 30: Outgoing Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh took oath as Minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet for the second consecutive term on Thursday. With this, he has become the key minister in PM Modi's Cabinet Committee on Security for the second time in a row.

Contesting in the 17 Lok Sabha Elections 2019 on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket from Lucknow, he defeated Samajwadi candidate Poonam Shatrughan Sinha by a margin of 3,47,302 votes. Previously too in 2014, he fought the Lok Sabha Elections form the same seat and secured victory.

In his previous tenure, Singh played a key role in strengthening the nation's home security and empower the security forces in the border states of India. His suggestions in CCS in the last PM Modi government.

After the Uri and Pulwama terror attacks, Shah lead the security forces deployment from the front and his strategic plans to decrease Maoist presence in central regions of India, gave momentum to India's growth in last five years. Now with the next tenure, it is expected that the Union Minister would be instrumental in dealing with national issues and take India to next upgraded level.
