The Congress has won a total of 23 urban civic bodies in Rajasthan, whereas the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) registered victory in six out of the total 49 seats.

According to details by election department, a total of 961 Congress candidates have emerged victorious in the civic polls while BJP has won a total of 737 seats. Meanwhile, the BSP had won 16 seats while CPIM has bagged 3 seats in the urban body polls.

According to trends, Congress has gained an impressive victory in 911 seats while the BJP has bagged 716 seats in the civic polls in Rajasthan. Reports inform that Congress is leading in most districts including Baran, Barmer, Chittorgarh, Jaisalmer, Jhunjhunu, Kota, Sikar, Rajsamand and Sirohi. Meanwhile, the Independents have won 376 seats, BSP has won 15, CPIM bags 2 while the NCP has bagged 2 seats.

According to trends at 2.30 pm, the Congress has won 863 wards, the BJP has won in 661 wards while the BSP has won in 15 wards while the CPI(M) has won in 2 wards. Also, NCP 1 and Independent candidates won in 347 wards.

According to latest figures, Congress has won 708 wards, BJP has won 555 seats while the BSP has won 14 seats. The trends show that the CPI(M) has bagged 2 seats while the Independent candidates have won in 296 wards as of 1.30 pm.

The counting of votes is currently underway in all 49 municipal bodies across Rajasthan. In Makrana, the Congress has won 35 seat while the BJP has got just 3. Meanwhile, the BJP has won in Alwar while the Congress has won in Mount Abu. In Bharatpur, the BJP has won in in 22 seats while the Congress has won in 18.

Jaipur, November 19: The counting of votes for the urban local bodies polls began on Tuesday amid high security. The results will be out by evening. The polling in all 49 municipal bodies across Rajasthan was held on Saturday,  November 16 from 7 am till 5 pm. The voting for Rajasthan civic polls was held to elect about 2,100 ward councillors across the state. According to that state election department,  a total of 7,944 candidates are in the fray in 49 civic bodies of the state.

The election commission said that 7,944 candidates were in the fray in 49 civic bodies of the state. The election department said that a total of 33.69 lakh voters, including 17.05 lakh men and 16.01 lakh women, were eligible to exercise their franchise on Saturday. According o reports, the election for chairman and deputy chairman of local bodies will be held on November 26 and 27 respectively.

In the Rajasthan Nagar Palika and Nagar Parishad bypolls held in July this year, the Congress has bagged the maximum seats. The party has won 8 wards, the BJP has bagged 5, whereas, 3 independent candidates have emerged victorious.
