The Congress has bagged the maximum victory in Rajasthan Nagar Palika and Nagar Parishad bypolls. The party has won 8 wards, the BJP has bagged 5, whereas, 3 independent candidates have emerged victorious.

Congress candidate Vikas Yadav won from ward no 22 of Bahrod Nagar Palika. Archana Devi of the Congress was elected from ward no Khairthal Nagar Palika in Alwar district.

Jaipur, June 12: The Rajasthan Nagar Palika and Nagar Parishad by-elections results 2019 will be declared today. The counting of votes for bypolls results of 14 wards in 13 Nagar Palikas and 3 wards in 2 Nagar Parishads began at 8 am today. The final results of the Rajasthan municipal by-elections will be out later in the day. Polling for by-elections of ward no 44 of Sujangarh Nagar Parishad in Churu district and ward no 32 and 42 of Hindaun Nagar Parishad in Karauli district was held on June 10. By-elections were also held in ward no 22 of Bahrod Nagar Palika and ward no 4 of Khairthal Nagar Palika in Alwar district, ward no 14 of Vair Nagar Palika in Bharatpur district, ward no 3 of Jahajpur Nagar Palika in Bhilwada district, ward no 6 of Indrgarh Nagar Palika in Bundi district, ward no 3 of Chapar Nagar Palika in Churu district, ward no 23 of Badi Nagar Palika in Dhaulpur district, ward no 13 and 21 of Rawatsar Nagar Palika, ward no 12 of Nohar Nagar Palika in Hanumangarh district, ward no 12 of Shahpura Nagar Palika in Jaipur, ward no 6 of Todabhim Nagar Palika in Karauli district, ward no 12 of Abu Road Nagar Palika in Sirohi district and ward no 11 of Gajsinghpur Nagar Palika in Shri Ganganagar district.

The main electoral contest is between the ruling Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In recently held Lok Sabha elections, the BJP along with its ally RLP won all 25 seats in the state. Months before Lok Sabha polls, Assembly elections were held. The Congress party returned to power defeating the Vasundhara Raje led BJP.
