Rajasthan Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Voting Ends in Alwar, Jaipur, Bikaner and 9 Other Parliamentary Constituencies; 63.45% Voting Turnout Recorded

More than 2.30 crore voters will exercise their franchise to decide the fate of 134 candidates in 12 Rajasthan Lok Sabha seats on Monday in the fifth phase of polling.

Jaipur, May 6: Polling for the remaining 12 Lok Sabha constituencies out of the 25 parliamentary constituencies in Rajasthan concluded at 6 pm. A total of 63.45 percent voter turnout was recorded in the state. The 12 constituencies  that went to poll in the fifth phase on Monday were-  Shri Ganganagar (19.41 lakh voters), Bikaner (18.49 lakh), Churu (20.10 lakh), Jhunjhunu (19.8 lakh), Sikar (20.24 lakh), Jaipur Rural (19.43 lakh), Jaipur (21.25 lakh), Alwar (18.73 lakh), Bharatpur (19.34 lakh), Karauli Dholpur (18.5 lakh), Dausa (17.26 lakh) and Nagaur (19.24 lakh). Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore cast his vote in Jaipur. 67.65% Voter Turnout Recorded in 13 Parliamentary Constituencies of  Rajasthan in Fourth Phase.

There were 134 candidates in the fray. This was the second and last round of polling in the state for which campaigning concluded on Saturday. According to Chief Electoral Officer Anand Kumar, voters in this phase include 1.21 crore men and 1.9 crore women. Of this, 7 lakh were first-time voters. In the fifth phase, polling was held in several other states including Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. In Rajasthan, the Lok Sabha elections 2019 witnessed a direct fight between the Congress and the BJP.  In the fourth phase,  13 of the 25 constituencies in Rajasthan went to polls and a total of 67.65 percent voter turnout was recorded in the state. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
