Jaipur, July 22: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday, July 22, wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the political crisis in the state. In the letter, Gehlot said that attempts are being made to topple elected government through horse-trading. "Despicable attempts to destabilize elected governments through horse-trading. It is a betrayal of people's mandate and open violation of constitutional values. Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh are examples of this," the letter stated. "I don't know to what extent you are aware of all this or you are being misled. I have full faith that truth and democratic values will win and our government will complete its full term," Gehlot said.
Gehlot also accused Sachin Pilot of conspiring with BJP to topple ruling Congress government in Rajasthan in a similar manner how Kamal Nath-led Madhya Pradesh government collapsed after the exit of Jyotiraditya Scindia and his 22 loyalist MLAs.
