Rajasthan Budget 2019-20 Highlights: Free Solar Pumps For Farmers, One Lakh Jobs, Steps To Stop Water Going To Pakistan, Here's What Ashok Gehlot Announced

In the Budget, Ashok Gehlot announced a slew of schemes for the welfare of farmers in Rajasthan.

Jaipur, July 10: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who also holds the finance portfolio, presented his government first full-fledged Budget for the fiscal year 2019-20. In the Budget, Ashok Gehlot announced a slew of schemes for the welfare of farmers in Rajasthan. The Chief Minister also said the state government will make a plan to stop water of major rivers from flowing into Pakistan.

"The Budget is based on aspirations and suggestions of people of Rajasthan," Gehlot said in his budgetary speech. He announced that the government will provide a solar pump set to farmers free of cost under Kusum Yojna. The Chief Minister announced laying of pipelines to connect 390 villages. The government aims to provide one lakh jobs in the next five years under Mukhyamantri Rozgar Yojana, Gehlot said. Union Budget Against Aspirations of Farmers, Youth: Ashok Gehlot.

Rajasthan Budget 2019-20 Highlights:

  • Gehlot announced to open Mohalla Clinics in the state.
  • He allocated Rs 1000 crore for Krishi Kalyan Kosh and Rs 262 crore for 29 irrigation projects.
  • Gehlot announced the provision of Rs 25 lakh for martyrs from August 1.
  • He renamed the Environment Department to Environment and Climate Change Department.
  • The chief minister announced free pilgrimage to Pashupati Nath temple in Nepal.
  • He announced to develop a cultural centre on the lines of Indian International Centre in Delhi.
  • Gehlot allocated Rs 10 crore for the education of females from minority communities.
  • CT scan has been made free in all government hospitals.
  • No new tax was announced in the budget.

Gehlot accused the previous BJP government of leaving a burden of debt. "The fiscal deficit in the previous government was more than 3 percent. The previous government increased the burden of debt on the state," the chief minister said.
