Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2018: BJP Expels 11 Rebels From Party For Six Years
Ahead of the assembly elections in Rajasthan, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday expelled 11 rebel leaders from the primary membership of the party for six years. The leaders were expelled for contesting against the official party candidates.
Jaipur, November 22: Ahead of the assembly elections in Rajasthan, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday expelled 11 rebel leaders from the primary membership of the party for six years. The leaders were expelled for contesting against the official party candidates in the upcoming assembly elections. Meanwhile, BJP MLA Gyan Dev Ahuja who had filed nomination as independent after being denied a ticket by the party, took back his nomination. The BJP reinstated him as party's state vice president. The leaders who are expelled from the party's primary membership are Rajkumar Ridwa, Rameshwar Bhati, Kuldeep Dhankad, Surendra Goyal, Lakshminarayan Dabe, Radheshyam Ganganagar, Anita Katara, Kishanram Nai, Dhansingh Rawat and Deendayal Kumavat.
On November 19, released its fifth list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections. The party has named candidates from six constituencies in the latest list, with senior leader and key Vasundhara Raje aide, Yunus Khan, pitted against Congress state president Sachin Pilot. The top leaders will clash for the Tonk assembly seat.
Meanwhile, according to the latest opinion poll released by ABP News, in coordination with research agency Lokniti-CSDS, the Congress is likely to secure a vote share of 45 per cent, whereas, the BJP would be able to secure 41 per cent of votes. In terms of seats, the Sachin Pilot-led unit would bag 110 seats, whereas, the Vasundhara Raje-led BJP would be restricted to 84 constituencies. The state is going for elections on December 7, and the result will be declared on December 11.
