Jaipur, November 14: Congress president Rahul Gandhi was left embarrassed when the party's chief in Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot, and senior leader Rameshwar Dudi engaged in a verbal spat over the allocation of tickets for the state assembly elections. The heated argument between Pilot and Dudi took place when Rahul Gandhi was holding a meeting to finalise candidates for the Rajasthan polls.

According to reports, the argument broke out between Pilot and Dudi, who is said to be a close aide of former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, over the allocation of tickets for Phulera, Kishangarh, Ganganagar, Chittorgarh and Phalaudi constituencies. The two sides got so aggressive that Rahul Gandhi had to intervene. He then asked Pilot and Dudi to submit a detailed report on the matter. The Congress has so far kept complete silence over the rift. Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections 2018: On Campaign Trail, Rahul Gandhi Offers Ice-cream to Child; Watch Video.

Earlier this month, Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia and senior leader Digvijaya Singh got into an argument in front of Gandhi over the allocations of tickets for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. Following the verbal spat, Gandhi had formed a three-member committee comprising Ashok Gehlot, Veerappa Moily and Ahmed Patel. Singh, however, denied reports of a rift within the party.

“It is being wrongly reported in the press that I and Jyotiraditya Scindhia ji had any argument and Rahul ji had to intervene. All of us in MP Congress are one and determined to defeat the corrupt BJP Govt in MP (sic)," he had tweeted. Reacting to the Congress infighting, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said that was “confused”, and the Congress under him is “defused”.
