After winning 99 seats in Rajasthan -- though short of a clear majority-- the Congress had the support of RLD with one seat in its kitty. On Wednesday, BSP supremo Mayawati also extended her support to the Congress to help the party form Government in the state. The Congress is expected to stake claim to form the government in the state today.
The total assembly strength in Rajasthan is 200. However, the election for Alwar seat was postponed following the death of the BSP candidate. The Congress had in the 2013 Assembly election managed to win only 21 seats in the state.
