Jaipur, October 29: Rajasthan minister Dhan Singh Rawat on Friday made a controversial statement during a rally ahead of Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2018. While speaking at the rally, he said that those who are Hindu should come together and vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). "Rajasthan mein jitne bhi Hindu hain un sabhi Hinduon ko ekjut BJP ko vote dena hai. Agar Congress ke saath judd kar saare Muslim matdaan kar sakte hain toh saare Hindu BJP ke saath ja sakte hain aur prachand bahumat se BJP ko jita sakte hain (In Rajasthan, every Hindu should unite and vote for BJP. If Muslims can vote en masse for the Congress than Hindu's should vote for BJP and help the party win with majority), " said BJP leader Dhan Singh Rawat.

Meanwhile, Home Minister of Rajasthan, Gulab Chand Kataria, reacting on the controversial statement, said, "A voter has no religion, he votes for a person who works for the development of the country. BJP has never sought votes on the basis of religion." He made this statement while speaking to media personnel in Jaipur.
Political parties are carrying out rallies and campaign for the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Elections 2018, which is scheduled to be held on December 7. An opinion poll carried out by ABP News showed that Congress is the preferred party in Rajasthan with State president Sachin Pilot leading as the most preferred candidate for the CM.
