Hyderabad, August 13: Controversial Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Hyderabad's Goshamahal T Raja Singh on Sunday announced his resignation from the party, yet again. This is the third time that Singh has quit the party in the past two years. Even as the BJP says that Singh's resignation has not yet been accepted, the MLA said that "protecting the Hindu religion and gau raksha are bigger priorities for him than politics."
In a video posted on his Facebook page on Sunday, Raja Singh said that he didn't want the party to suffer because of his deeds. He also said that he felt that the party was not doing enough to ensure the safety of cows. He said that he has quit the BJP to focus on ensuring cow safety and protect Hindu dharma.

Raja Singh has been in the news in the past for his remarks on lynchings and National Register of Citizens (NRC). Shortly after the Alwar lynching incident last month, Singh had said that "through some media reports" he has gotten to know that Rakbar Khan (the victim) had certain cases of cattle theft against him. He also said that such incidents will continue to happen till "gau mata is not declared rashtra mata".
Singh had also said that Rohingyas and Bangladeshi illegal immigrants should be shot dead if they refuse to leave India. Raja Singh added that the country would become safe once Rohingyas and Bangladeshi illegal immigrants are eliminated. "If these Rohingyas and Bangladeshi illegal immigrants do not leave India respectfully, then they should be shot and eliminated. Then only our country will be safe," Singh had said.
