Mumbai, December 3: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Monday claimed that riots between Hindus and Muslims will be engineered in the country around the issue of Ram temple. Raj Thackeray said people like Owaisi, apparently, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, have been roped in to incite communal violence for political purposes.

"A plan is being made to play with religious sentiments to retain power. In the next few months, there will be Hindu-Muslim riots, and for this talks are underway with people like Owaisi," Thackeray said at a gathering. The MNS chief claimed he received "this serious information" from a person in Delhi. He didn't elaborate that who warned him of riots.

"We have been saying that construction of Ram temple (in Ayodhya) should take place but before the 2019 elections. This government is hell-bent to play politics of polarisation. Be alert," Thackeray warned. He further hit out at Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and alleged that the BJP leader was diving people on the basis of caste and religion.

"Yogi Adityanath doesn't pay attention to his state. Did anyone earlier ask about the caste of Ram and Hanuman? Spreading hate on the basis of caste and religion is the only motive of him," Thackeray said.
