Rahul Gandhi's Wayanad Candidature Challenged Ahead of Phase 3 Lok Sabha Elections; NDA's T Vellappally Writes to EC, Seeks Review

NDA candidate T Vellappally through his lawyers wrote to CEO Kerala to review the nomination of Rahul Gandhi, alleging the Congress president of having a passport of a foreign country.

Wayanad, April 21: Congress president Rahul Gandhi problems are rising with each passing day. Earlier it was Amethi and now it's Wayanad parliament seat where NDA candidate T Vellappally through his lawyers wrote to CEO Kerala to review the nomination of Rahul Gandhi, alleging the Congress president of having a passport of a foreign country - United Kingdom.

In a letter to CEO Kerala, Vellappally stated, "It's understood that Rahul Gandhi is having a passport of a foreign country also. He didn't disclose this in the nomination filed or in the affidavit."  Rahul Gandhi Has Net Worth of Rs 15.88 Crore, Income Grew Rs 6.4 Crore in 5 Years, Says Congress Chief's Lok Sabha Election 2019 Affidavit. 

Adding on, Vellappally also requested the CEO Kerela to cancel the candidature of Gandhi for not disclosing the details of his nationality in the affidavit submitted to the EC while filing nomination. The NDA candidate writes, "I request you to review the acceptance of the nomination of Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad constituency to check for validity & reject the application."

Earlier, Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao demanded that Gandhi come clean over his British citizenship. Returning Officer has asked Rahul Kaushik, the Congress leader’s counsel, to give his reply on Monday.
