Srinagar, August 14: The office of Governor of Jammu and Kashmir,Satyapal Malik, in a statement released on Wednesday on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's possible visit to Jammu and Kashmir post the bifuration and revocation of Article 370 said that the matter has been referred to the local administration and that it will "get in touch with the MP at a convenient time." Rahul Gandhi Accepts Jammu And Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik's Invite to Visit Valley, Says 'I Don't Need Aircraft, But Freedom to Travel, Meet People'.

The Governor's office said that, "Rahul Gandhi has taken four days to respond on an issue, which already stands clarified and settled. At present, the entire State Administration is pre-occupied with making arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day." On Sunday, Rahul Gandhi said that he came across some media reports of violence in the valley. "People were dying in the state and the situation was not normal as claimed by the government," he said.

Reacting to it, Malik had said that Gandhi should be ashamed. The governor also invited Gandhi to the valley and see the ground reality. "I have invited Rahul Gandhi to come here. I will send you an aircraft, to see the situation and then speak up," Malik said.

Satyapal Malik said that, "Rahul Gandhi is politicising the matter by seeking to bring a delegation of opposition leaders to create further unrest and problems for the common people. He has put forth many conditions for visiting Jammu and Kashmir, including meeting mainstream leaders under detention."
