New Delhi, December 30: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday tweeted and asked Congress party workers and leaders to meet the families of all those killed during anti-CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) protests and provide them with every required help and support. Gandhi met the families of two victims who were killed in the anti-CAA stir in Assam on Saturday. He also shared a video of him showing Gandhi meeting the families of the two young men killed in the anti-CAA protests. Gandhi added that many people were wounded and killed in the protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. On Saturday, opposing the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, Rahul Gandhi slammed the BJP and RSS, saying the Congress will not allow them to attack the culture and identity of Assam and expressed apprehension that the state is returning to the path of violence due to the “anti-people” policies of the saffron party. Addressing a public rally at Guwahati, which had seen violent protests against the CAA, the former Congress President appealed all to be united and tell the BJP that culture and identity of Assam “cannot be attacked”.
