New Delhi, April 9: As a part of their nationwide "fast" to protest against the Narendra Modi government and non-functioning of Parliament, the Congress on Monday will lead a protest at the Raj Ghat. As per reports, Congress president Rahul Gandhi will lead a protest. Reports state that the Congress workers will hold a day-long fast at all state and district headquarters to protest against the BJP government and promote communal harmony and peace across the country.

Rahul Gandhi is believed to sit with Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken and other party workers in the national capital. The leaders will be protesting against the Modi government and its failure to hold a discussion in Parliament on key issues such as the CBSE paper leak, the multi-crore PNB scam, Cauvery issue and Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.

Reports state that the Congress will also take up issues related to alleged dilution of the SC/ST Act, farm distress and disillusionment among the youth. The BJP has also announced that its MPs will observe a fast on April 12 to protest the impasse in Parliament.

To recall, members of the ruling BJP-led coalition and the opposition Congress took their fight outside in the last week. A per reports, lawmakers of the BJP, including ministers, and those of the Congress, stood facing each other at the Gandhi statue with placards outside the Parliament. As per details by Union minister Ananth Kumar, the BJP MPs have decided to observe a fast on April 12 to protest against the parliament logjam.
