New Delhi, July 23: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday hit out at the Narendra Modi government over the Alwar lynching incident. "This is Modi’s brutal New India where humanity is replaced with hatred and people are crushed and left to die," Gandhi tweeted this morning. He also expressed anguish over the delay by police in taking the victim to the hospital.
Rakbar Khan, 31, was allegedly lynched by a mob in Rajasthan's Alwar on Friday over suspicion of cattle smuggling. Rakbar Khan and another man were allegedly transporting two cows from his native Kolganv village in Haryana to Ramgarh's Lalwandi village when a violent mob attacked them. The two were brutally beaten up and Rakbar died on the spot.
Policemen in #Alwar took 3 hrs to get a dying Rakbar Khan, the victim of a lynch mob, to a hospital just 6 KM away.
Why?
They took a tea-break enroute.

The Alwar Police have also come under attack after it was revealed that they first sent cows to a Gaushala (cow shelter) and then brought Rakbar Khan to the nearest hospital. The Alwar police struggled to explain why it took them more than 3 hours to travel 6 km while taking Rakbar to hospital.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje condemned the incident saying, "The incident of alleged lynching of a person transporting bovines in Alwar district is condemnable. Strictest possible action shall be taken against the perpetrators."
