New Delhi, July 5: Amid the controversy which erupted over Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh's order to conduct a dope test of state government employees, BJP veteran Subramanian Swamy took a stinging jibe at Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
Swamy said if the Gandhi scion would be asked to undertake a dope test, he would fail due to his cocaine addiction. The 78-year-old's barb came amid the demand raised by members of the Akali Dal seeking a dope test of all legislators and lawmakers.
"Rahul Gandhi once said nearly 70 per cent of Punjabis are drug addicts. I hope he takes the dope test because it certain that he will fail. I know he takes cocaine," Swamy said.

Earlier, Union Minister and senior Akali leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal said those who defamed Punjab with the "70 per cent nashedi (addicts)" jibe should be the first to take the dope test.
"All those leaders including those who called 70% Punjabis 'Nashedis' should undergo the dope test first," she told news agency ANI.
The demand to conduct dope test of all MLAs and MPs was raised by sections within the Congress as well, including the party's top brass leader from Punjab and former Union Minister Manish Tewari.
"Dope test of government servants for recruitment/promotions proposed by Punjab government is a welcome step. Must be made mandatory for all MLAs and MPs from state," he said.
