New Delhi, December 15: Hours after Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge accused the Attorney General and Comptroller and Auditor General of presenting wrong facts in the Rafale deal in Supreme Court, Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar supported him by stating that Public Accounts Committee (PAC) studied the CAG report is false. Pawar, too, accused the BJP-led government of presenting false data in the apex court.
Expressing his views of Kharge’s comments’ – post-Kharge’s accusations and stating that he would summon AG and CAG – NCP chief said, “The SC judgement says the decision is based on the basis of info they got from Government. Earlier, Kharge had accused the Narendra Modi-led union Government lying’ in the apex court. Addressing the media, he had said, “Government lied in SC that the CAG report was presented in the house and in PAC and PAC has probed it. Government said in SC it is in public domain. Where is it? Have you seen it? I am going to take this up with other members of PAC. We will summon AG and CAG.”
Adding more, he had said, “I request all PAC members to ask the Comptroller and Auditor General to come out with details of when the case was placed before PAC and when it was examined. We will also try to call them.”
Earlier, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi accused the PM Modi-government of being a liar. He had raised questions the basis of the court’s decision and said, “Chowkidar chor hai! PM Modi you can hide and run, you won't be saved. The day there is an inquiry it will come out... Referring to the SC’s announcement based on parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report, Gandhi had said Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report was not seen by senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, who heads the PAC. He said, “The basic foundation of the Supreme Court judgement is the CAG report. PAC chairman has not seen the CAG report. aYet the court has seen it. Where is the CAG report? Show us? Maybe it was shown to the France parliament? Maybe PM Modi has his own PAC in PMO (Prime Minister's office)... since he has destroyed every institution.”
