New Delhi, April 10: Reacting on Congress President Rahul Gandhi's claim that the Supreme Court's decision to admit the review petition on Rafale deal amounts to the top court "accepting corruption in Rafale deal," Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday attacked the Congress party and added that Rahul Gandhi's comments amount to "contempt of court." Talking in a press conference, Sitharaman alleged that the "Congress president probably doesn't even read even half a paragraph, but here, by saying that the court has accepted and by also saying that the court has said 'Chowkidar chor hai,' these verge on contempt of court." On Wednesday, soon after filing his nomination papers for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Amethi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said, “The Prime minister has been claiming that the Supreme Court had given him a clean chit on the Rafale deal. The Supreme Court has clarified and has begun an investigation into the Rafale deal.”

“The Supreme Court has accepted that there was corruption in Rafale and that the Prime Minister has given Rs 30,000 crore to Anil Ambani,” said Gandhi.
