Priyanka Gandhi Takes Jibe at Narendra Modi Government Over Kashmir Issue Citing RSS Tweet

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Monday took a jibe at the Narendra Modi government over the Kashmir issue. Citing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) tweet, Gandhi questioned PM Modi’s commitment to resolving the Kashmir issue.

New Delhi, August 19: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday took a jibe at the Narendra Modi government over the Kashmir issue. Citing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) statement, where the pro-Hindu organisation asked for resolving all important issues through “cordial dialogue”, Priyanka questioned PM Modi’s commitment to resolve the Kashmir issue. Independence Day 2019: Mohan Bhagwat Lauds Article 370 Revocation, Says Kashmir Now as Much Free as Maharashtra.

“So the RSS has declared in a tweet that all “issues in the society” should be resolved through cordial dialogue? I suppose either Modiji and his government no longer respect the RSS’s views or they don’t believe that there is an “issue” in Jammu and Kashmir. Interesting....” Priyanka tweeted.

Earlier in the day, the RSS issued a clarification on Mohan Bhagwat’s statement of reviewing the reservation policy. The RSS tweeted a statement of Arun Kumar, Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh. In the statement, Kumar said that attempts are being made to create unnecessary controversy over Bhagwat’s remark. The Narendra Modi government on August 5 scrapped the special status of Jammu and Kashmir by diluting the Article 370. The Centre also divided the state into two union territories – Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Opposition parties like the Aam Aadmi Party, TDP and BSP, supported the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government’s move. Various Congress leaders, including Jyotiraditya Scindia and Bhupinder Hooda, also came in support of the Modi government.
