Priyanka Gandhi Takes Swipe at Narendra Modi at Ghaziabad Roadshow, Accuses PM of Distancing With People of Varanasi
Campaigning for the party's candidate from the Parliamentary constituency Dolly Sharma in Ghaziabad, Priyanka Gandhi took a swipe at Modi for not visiting a single house of the voter in his own LS constituency – Varanasi.
Ghaziabad, April 5: Congress General Secretary for UP east Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday attacked Narendra Modi during a roadshow for Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Campaigning for the party's candidate from the Parliamentary constituency Dolly Sharma in Ghaziabad, Gandhi took a swipe at Modi for not visiting a single house of the voter in his own LS constituency – Varanasi.
Taking a swipe at the BJP Prime Minister on his foreign visits and hugging ministers there, while distancing with the people of his constituency, Gandhi stated that she was surprised to know that Modi couldn’t find five minutes in last five years to visit a poor person’s house in Varanasi. Interacting with the people in Ghaziabad, she said that when she asked whether Modi came to see them, she was told, “Aate to hain didi lekin bhashan deke chale jaate hai. Badi Badi rally karte hai didi lekin chale jaate hai (Yes he comes, bus addresses the big rallies and goes away).”

Gandhi took a jibe at Modi’s foreign visits and hugging ministers and said, “…duniya bhar gum aaye hai.. Japan gaye wahan gale lage, wo America gaye waha bhi gale lag gaye, Pakistan gaye wahan Biryani khaayi, China gaye wahan gale lage, Africa gaye wahan gale lage, lekin Varanasi ke ek gareeb parivaar se gale lagte kabhi aapne unhe dekha hai? (…he (Modi) visited the entire world.. went to Japan and hugged people, went to America and hugged people, went to Pakistan and ate Biryani, went to China and hugged people, went to Africa and hugged people…but have you ever seem him hugging a poor person from Varanasi?)”
This is not the first time that Gandhi had attacked Modi. Since she has been made the general secretary of Congress and in-charge of East-Uttar Pradesh for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, Gandhi has been vocal against the BJP stalwart.
