New Delhi, April 17: Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi expressed her anguish after the party reinstated its workers who misbehaved with her. Expressing her anger over Congress's decision, Priyanka Chaturvedi said those members of the party who threatened her were spared. The suspension of Congress workers was revoked after an intervention of Jyotiraditya Scindia.
"Deeply saddened that lumpen goons get prefence in @incindia over those who have given their sweat&blood. Having faced brickbats&abuse across board for the party but yet those who threatened me within the party getting away with not even a rap on their knuckles is unfortunate (sic)," Chaturvedi tweeted. According to a letter issued by Congress's Uttar Pradesh unit, some Congress workers were suspended in disciplinary action for their unruly behaviour with Chaturvedi during a press conference in Mathura. The letter said the workers expressed regret and requested for reinstating them. "On Congress General Secretary Jyotiraditya Scindia's intervention, action taken against you all is suspended," the letter added. "We expect you won't do any such act in future that tarnish the image of the party," the letter told the workers. Chaturvedi had filed a criminal complaint on July 3 against a troller, who had tweeted to her threatening to rape her 10-year-old daughter. The Congress spokesperson brought the matter to the attention of the Mumbai Police, after which a complaint was filed.
