Sangam Lal Gupta of the Bharatiya Janata Party won from the Pratapgarh Lok Sabha Constituency in Uttar Pradesh. Lal Gupta defeated Ashok Tripathi of the Bahujan Samaj Party by a margin of 1,17,752 votes.  The election here was conducted on May 12, 2019 as per the Phase 6 schedule. The counting of votes took place on May 23. The last general election in the year 2014 was won by Apna Dal (AP) candidate Kuwar Harivansh Singh who bagged the total of 3,75,789 votes and is the current MP on the seat . The runner up of the election was Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Asif Nizamuddin Siddique with 2,07,567 votes.
