Lal Gupta defeated Ashok Tripathi of the Bahujan Samaj Party by a margin of 1,17,752 votes. The election here was conducted on May 12, 2019 as per the Phase 6 schedule. The counting of votes took place on May 23. A total voter turnout of 53.34 per cent was recorded by the Election Commission of India.
