New Delhi, November 18: Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Monday arrived in an electric car to attend the winter session of Parliament. The minister chose to travel by an electric car to reinforce the Centre’s commitment towards a pollution-free environment. Speaking to media, Javadekar, “Government is gradually switching to electric cars as they are pollution-free.” Winter Session Parliament Begins Today; Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, Chit Funds (Amendment) Bill & Other Important Legislation Likely to be Passed.
Javadekar also appealed to people to use public transport and electric vehicles so that pollution can be controlled in the country. He stated, “I Appeal to people to contribute to fighting pollution- start using public transport, electric vehicles etc.”

Apart from Javadekar, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Delhi chief Manoj Tiwari and BJP MP Mansukh Mandaviya from Gujarat also reached Parliament by riding on bicycles. Speaking to media, Tiwari said that everybody should come together to find a solution to control pollution. He emphasised that the government is taking steps to control the menace.

The winter session of Parliament has begun on Monday. This is the 250th session of the Rajya Sabha. Ahead of the winter session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for frank discussions on all matter. He said it is important that there should be quality debates, there should be dialogues and discussions. Before the start of the session, the Upper House paid tribute to Jagannath Mishra, Arun Jaitley, Sukhdev Singh Libra, Ram Jethmalani, Gurudas Gupta and Sushma Swaraj.
